Musical appreciation

Ramblings about bands I have seen, music I am listening to, bands I want to see, merch I have bought, and view my poorly taken videos or photos of various gigs. I am not a music expert, nor a journalist, or even anyone of note. I just really like music, I like going to gigs. I like listening to music. I like curating playlists. I like collecting merch. I like supporting Australian artists. I like talking to other people who like music. Thanks for reading a nobody’s musings on some somebodies.

@lowlife.sydney and @speedingvehicle Not bad for a Sunday matinee session!

A night at the @thelansdowne with @finnoguns_wake @12.buck @nancyandthejamfancys

Went to a gig last night with my daughter. She went for the main act. I went for the support. @theprettylittles She even took my videos for me. I knew none of the main acts songs but it was fun watching her enjoy them.

@spike_fcuk @theoxfordartfactory This was a very cool gig. Release day gigs hit harder. An excellent return, with a great band, and just super smooth vibe. I wasn't cool enough to be there to be honest.

@stationmodelviolence and @lowlife.sydney @theoxfordartfactory last night. There were several other great band there too but this was me. These two bands. I think that is my third time this year seeing Station Model Violence and I am hoping again soon. Exceptionally good to see Low Life again. Even managed to score a good vision spot at OAF. Winning!

The Drones @factory_theatre A reunion tour so many have been waiting for. This was a gig that if you love Australian music you couldn't miss. Guess that's why this tour has sold out multiple venues multiple nights in a row. Shark Fin Blues is easily in the top 5 best Australian songs ever. They still got it. Was beautiful. Listening to River of Tears in Marrickville was so devastating.

@radiumdolls @burdekinbandroom This was fun. Watching Tom smile gleefully as he shreds a guitar bring a great joy. Think this is my fourth gig of theirs this year. Happy for it not to be the last.

@theprettylittles but nothing about their songs is pretty. Raw and hash and heavy; themes, and tunes. Sung so earnestly and with such passion. Story telling that is up there with Paul Kelly.
